Cadre: Navigating Life Beyond Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Diverse group of people caring for heart health, with a large red heart and heartbeat line above them.

Cadre is the first mobile app designed to support out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivors and co-survivors to navigate life after cardiac arrest.

Cadre will provide you and your loved ones with access to timely information, resources, and ways to keep track of recovery over time.

After sudden cardiac arrest, survivors and their loved ones are often discharged with little ongoing support. Cadre was co-designed with survivors and co-survivors to fill that gap—offering accessible, personalized digital tools to guide recovery, improve well-being, and connect users to trusted resources.

Why Cadre?

With Cadre, survivors and co-survivors can

Track well-being over time

Receive timely tips

Keep a record of key information

Access a vetted list of resources

What’s Next?

User Testing

We’re working closely with survivors and co-survivors to test the Cadre prototype, ensuring the design is intuitive, helpful, and meets real-world needs.

Development

Based on feedback from testing, we’ll begin building the Cadre app—starting with the Survivor version—to deliver meaningful, accessible support after hospital discharge.

Launch

Once the app is built, we’ll launch a research study in 2026 to explore how feasible and acceptable Cadre is in real-life settings, laying the groundwork for future scaling.

    [Survivor]

  • "I copy her activities into my day timer. And I try to help her, just like, to remember this or that - to supplement her memory so she doesn't forget anything."

    [Co-survivor]

  • 'I like the Weekly Tidbits on Cadre, and I like them even more knowing these are rooted in science and are based on research"

  • "Cadre is a really nice tool that aims to drive engagement and collect some data that can be useful to the user. It has enough breadth but doesn’t feel overwhelming. I really like what the app is aiming to do."
